RESET/ PRINTER DATA IN BUFFER When the printer is on-line, if print CONTINUE data is in the buffer and no new data is received within five seconds, the message Printer Data In Buffer appears. Pressing the RESET/CONTINUE button at that time clears the buffer by printing a page.
RESETTING THE When the printer is off-line, holding the button down for 3 PRINTER seconds clears the buffer, resets printer functions to their current SelecType settings, and temporary soft fonts and macros. The message Reset appears briefly in the display.
CLEARING CERTAIN When certain error messages appear in the display, this button ERROR MESSAGES can be pressed to clear them and set the printer on-line. Pressing this button also overrides paper size messages.
MANUAL When the printer is off-line, use this button to alternate between MANUAL and AUTOMATIC PAPER FEED modes.
SPECIAL Press this button to set a higher fuser temperature. Use this setting for envelopes and heavy (27- to 34-lb) paper. When this option is on, a pound sign (#) appears at the right of the display.
ON LINE Press this button to set the printer on-line or off-line. This button is disabled in the SelecType mode.
