B&W Loudspeakers, the Brit company is ready to launch a couple of new products amongst which is their forte- the loudspeakers. Looks, style and technology all culminate into the next-gen speakers that borrow technology from the 800 series and up the grade for the 600 series. The 686 is a new entry-level model and is a very compact (10.4″ x 6.7″ x 9.8″ HWD) two-way vented design with a 5″ Kevlar bass/midrange driver and a 1″ Nautilus tube-loaded aluminum dome tweeter. The 685 is housed a somewhat larger enclosure, with a 6.5″ Kevlar cone bass/midrange driver and the 1″ Nautilus tube-loaded. Next up in the range is a two-and-half-way, vented-box, floor stander that features two new 6.5″ Kevlar cone bass/midrange drivers-The 684. And last in line is the 683, which is a true three-way vented-box system featuring two high power, low distortion 6.5″ aluminum bonded to paper/Kevlar bass drivers. It even has the 6″ FST midrange driver and 1″ aluminum tweeter and Nautilus housing.

Bowers & Wilkins’ speakers are priced as the following: the 686 costs $450/pair; the 685 costs $600/pair; the 684 will cost $1,000/pair and the 683 costs $1,400/pair. The 600 series will be initially available in black ash and red cherry colors and the wenge will be added later this year. The first phase of shipment includes the 686, 685 and 683 speakers and is available since 1st of June.
