gScreen (a company from Alaska) is planning to unveil this so-called “beast” laptop that claims to provide functionality fit for every graphic artist’s dream! The gScreen Spacebook offers a FULL 15.4 incher dual slider-screen structured on a laptop.

It seems pretty wide. I hope the specs is “wide enough” too! See it for yourself.

Some points that we would like to ponder:

cool latest new high tech PC laptop gadgets question mark

If you are a multimedia designer, you know that a 320 GB HD will not be sufficed. I hope gScreen corporation has a (personal customization) option for aspiring buyers to tweak their “2-headed laptop” before ordering.

According to gScreen’s blog, they will release the final version of Spacebook using Windows 7 OS (optional). This is great because the official release of the said OS will be on the fourth quarter of this year.

Those “twin-heads” sure is not lightweight. According to gizmodo, the final release will have an estimated weight of 12 lbs (pounds). Imagine balancing that laptop along with its dual-screen on your LAP?

Logic will tell you that a laptop that uses dual-screen can drain too much battery. How can this device cope up with power stress? Today, gScreen has no answers for that inquiry yet.

How about the navigation?

Don’t you think it’s a little bit tedious for an average mouse to steer its way through out the 30 inch total workspace? Does it require high-dpi enabled Laser mouse or other peripherals?

Wrap-up:

Dual screen-laptop seems to be a new “frontier” for an average laptop user. However to an enthusiast, it’s just part of another game. Remember, Lenovo W series laptops offered “auxillary” screens for their models a couple of months ago. Although it’s not a FULL wide screen experience unlike what Spacebook  is offering, it still sounds very promising, especially coming from the mouth of a reputable company like Lenovo.

Lucky for us consumers, we are just waiting to see what these companies had stored for us! If you think Dual-screen is the beating of your heart right now then catch your breath and put some cash in your wallet because the release of gScreen Spacebook will be around 3,000 USD :)

So what do you think guys? Is it worth your penny?
