Have you heard about the name Alan Wake? Alan Wake is actually a psychological action thriller video game that was developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios last May 2010. This video game revolves on the story of a thriller writer named Alan Wake and his mission of discovering the truth behind the disappearance of his wife while having their vacation in the small town of Bright falls.
And just recently, there were some ongoing speculations that Remedy is preparing for the second version of this game, the Alan Wake 2. Apparently, the next Alan Wake video game will be putting Kinect through its paces as revealed by its new recruitment listing which requires a skilled programmer with an experience in motion-control technology. However, it is not clear whether this job listing is for the Alan Wake 2 project. But one thing is definite; Remedy is certainly preparing to work on the said sequel.
Basically, the major element of gameplay is the discovery and collection of manuscript pages, which will give the clue on the events that are yet to occur and act as a warning as you proceed to the episodes. Light will also play a vital role in the gameplay since the enemies in this game called “the Taken” are sensitive to light thus, encouraging the player to make use of environmental light sources and the flashlight as its primary weapon.
Well, it seems that the Alan Wake 2 will be equally exciting and popular as the first one. The Alan Wake 1 became a phenomenon when it was released. It was announced back in 2005 and in 2006 Microsoft joined Remedy with the purpose of releasing the game exclusively for the Xbox 360 game console and the Windows Vista operating system. However, after around 4 years of development it was released for the Xbox 360 and cancelled its PC version. Alan Wake was modeled after a Finnish actor named Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta voiced him in the English version of the said game.
With the success of the first version of this video game, it would not be surprising if Remedy will be coming out with a sequel to this original game. However, we don’t have any idea how long it will take for Remedy to develop the Alan Wake 2. So let us just wait for more updates.
