You can use your existing cable or satellite service and at no additional cost, Google TV gives you access to more entertainment options and simplifies the process of finding what you’re looking for.

This all-in-one box sports most of what you need,  HDMI in/out, an Intel processor, built-in Wi-Fi, a handheld keypad remote, and automatic updating, while adding in a 1080p-capable Blu-ray player to the mix.

However, there are a few limitations, I set one up for somebody the other day and made these observations.

Two things you should be aware of in case these features are important to you:

(1) When you run the HDMI output of your cable/satellite box through the NSZ-GT1 (in order to use the web/TV picture-in-picture feature) you will lose 5.1 channel audio playback for TV viewing. The NSZ-GT1 down converts 5.1 audio to PCM 2.0 (stereo) on its incoming HDMI connection. So no more surround sound from cable/satellite if you hook things up this way.

(2) there is no analog audio output on the back panel of the NSZ-GT1 so you will not be able to send any audio content from this device to any zone 2 speakers you may have associated with your home theatre system (only analog connections… not digital… will pass their content to zone 2 on most AV receivers).

The QWERTY keyboard is also tiny… my phone keyboard is bigger and buttons are easier to locate. Don’t plan on typing volumes on this remote.
